It feels good to vent. Let it out, but remember that one day you will be an adult and barely remeber the names of the people who seem to torture today. Just follow your path and be true and kind, the rest is a game you needn't concern yourself about.

Hannah,

“If you don’t move on you won’t do anything in life, but if we forget completely about what has happened we are liable to make the same mistakes and ruin our relationships, society, or Nation.”

I found your quote above very intriguing and well thought out! Great analysis!

I am extremely impressed by what you've written about your teacher. It's obvious that you value the lessons he has taught you and will carry them through your life. I am a teacher too and I want to thank you for inspiring me to work harder at my job.

Hey Hannah!

I loved your post about power, and the way it is used and abused in every day life! But I have always questioned, when people do good things with power, is it always as important when people do bad things with power? Everyday we hear about the way power corrupts, how it gets into the minds of the human race and twists its way into it's own being.

Here, in my class, we are/have studying/studied power and the way it gets to the rich and famous. I have heard many things such as "He is misusing his power, he is corrupted!" but I never hear how people use their power for good and not for "evil". Your post has especially helped me to see that.

True, there are many people in the world that start out with good intentions, and eventually go "mad" with power. I wonder why? Are they just used to getting whatever they want and when they want it?

Some very good examples would be people like Joseph Stalin, he was an originally "mad" with power. He was too used to being in command of everybody and he was too greedy and used to being in charge. He assumed that his "world" was at his command.

What an interesting discussion! Thanks for sparking my brain and making me think about this!

I agree with Sam. You made a nice observation, "Leaving a piece of trash on the floor is abusing our power because we know that their are people to clean it up, so we don’t pick it up and make someone else do it." It starts with small things. It takes a lot to let power go and simply act in good faith.

I love that you said, "writing is communicating, expressing, reflecting, and thinking but those aren’t separate parts of writing that is writing the whole part and the whole point of writing." You are absolutely right.

Nicely put, "we right (write) because we feel the need to let go of something." kind of letting into the world to interact with other thoughts to bring us all closer together. It is truly a beautiful thing. I feel writing is our way of getting closer to peace. That is why I am so passionate about it.

You said, "if they stopped paying so much money on jail cells and put that money into changing the curriculum maybe you wouldn’t need to spend that money on jails you would have less drop outs and more lawyers or doctors or people who want to make a difference." It seems so simple doesn't it?

TEACHER TALK: Hannah this is a great post, but please separate it into paragraphs for easier reading. Every time you have a new idea: softball, your brother, power etc...you should have a new paragraph.

Hey Hannah,
What you wrote here is really good. You really bring up a good point in how we abuse our power everyday and how simple of a thing we can do to make a difference and help someone else
